How the page looks

Every product decides for itself how its questions are laid out. The controls are in one place: open the Product Options panel and open How this page looks.

Nothing here changes what you ask, what it costs or what reaches the order. It changes how the page reads.

The shut row shows what the product is set to, so you can see the current setting without opening it.

Pick one. The choice is saved on that product only, so a simple product and a complicated one can read differently in the same shop.

Arrangement What the shopper gets
One after another Every question on one screen, in order. The default, and free.
Folding sections Each group is a heading they open. Groups holding a required question stay open. Pro.
Fold as you go One question open at a time. Each answer opens the next question. Pro.
Step by step One question on the screen at a time, with a rail and a Continue button. Pro.

Two of these have a page of their own: folding sections and step by step.

Under the menu are picture cards. Press one to choose it, or use the menu. They set the same thing.

This appears only for Folding sections, because it is the only arrangement it means anything to.

  • Everything open shows every section unfolded. The default.
  • First one open opens the first and closes the rest.
  • Everything closed starts with every section shut.

It sets how the page arrives. A shopper can fold and unfold from there.

A required question is never hidden

A group holding a question the shopper must answer stays open whatever you pick. Hiding a required question behind a closed heading is how an order gets abandoned at the Add to cart button. The line under the setting counts how many of those the product has, so you can see whether the choice will change much.

Three switches, each independent. Turn on any, all or none, and they work with every arrangement.

Puts 1, 2, 3 beside the questions, in the order the shopper meets them.

Numbers help on a long product. They give a shopper something to refer to, and they make it obvious how much is left.

Adds a list of every question and what was chosen, above Add to cart. Each row has a Change link back to that question.

On Step by step, the review becomes the final step, titled Check your answers. It counts as a stop on the rail.

Use it on anything expensive or made to order. A shopper who has answered eight questions wants to see the eight answers before they commit.

On a wide screen the product photo stays in view as the page scrolls. On a phone it shows in the price bar.

This earns its place when what the shopper chooses changes the picture. Colour swatches and option photos both swap the image, and there is no point swapping a picture that has scrolled off the top.

Pro. Named starting points shown above the questions, under the heading Popular setups, each with its price. A shopper presses one and its answers are filled in. Nothing is chosen until they press, and every answer can still be changed afterwards.

Add them in Product options under Ready-made setups: press Add a setup, give it a name and, if you like, one line about it, then pick an answer for each question it covers. Leave a question on Not part of this setup and the setup does not touch it.

Every arrangement, and Popular setups, work on a product ordered through the quantity grid. On Step by step the grid’s quantities are the first step. The total and the button stay in view whichever you pick.

Open the product page as a shopper would, and check:

  • The arrangement you picked, and no trace of the others.
  • The shut How this page looks row naming the current setting, so you can confirm it without opening.
  • Numbers beside the questions, if you turned numbering on.
  • The review above Add to cart, if you turned the review on.
  • The picture staying with you as you scroll, if you turned that on.

Every product that existed before AddOnBoss 2.0 reads all three switches as off, and keeps the arrangement it already had.

One thing does change. Folding sections used to arrive with every optional section shut, and now opens with everything open, the new default. To keep a product as it was, open How this page looks and choose Everything closed.

Each product keeps its stored arrangement. The page falls back to One after another and the three switches stand down.

Every question, every choice and every price still render, and shoppers can still buy. Restore the plan and each product returns to how you set it.
