Measured sizing is part of AddOnBoss Pro.

When a product’s price follows a measurement rather than a fixed set of sizes, use a measured option set. The customer gives you a size and the price follows a rate you set. Cut-to-size banners, fabric by the metre, rope, worktops, anything sold by length, area or volume.

Not sure which of the two pricing kinds you need? If the price comes from a formula, a rate is quicker to set up and exact at every size. If you price from a sheet, use a price table instead.

Create a measured set

On the Option Sets page, create a set and choose a measured size for its kind.

1. Under Dimensions, name each measurement the customer gives you. One row prices by length (per metre), two by area (per square metre), three by volume. A cut-to-size banner uses two rows, Width and Height.
2. Pick each row's unit (mm, cm, m, in or ft). Smallest, Largest and Steps are optional limits: Steps of 10 keeps sizes to sensible multiples of 10.
3. Set the rate under Price. Its unit follows your dimensions, so two dimensions price per square metre. A minimum charge is a floor for small sizes, not an amount added on top.

Ready-made sizes

That one rate prices every size, whether the customer types their own or taps a ready-made size you have set up. Ready-made sizes are shortcuts, priced by the same rate unless you give one its own price.

Name them the way your customers ask for them. “A2” and “600 x 400” are both fine: a size already named by its dimensions is not told them a second time on the page.

Custom size

Custom size is the extra button a customer taps to type their own dimensions, sitting beside your ready-made sizes. It is on by default, and it has its own section in the set editor, under Price.

Three shapes are possible, and you choose by whether Custom size is ticked and whether you have added any rows below it:

Turning Custom size off with no ready-made sizes leaves a customer nothing to pick and nothing to type, so saving tells you and names the switch that fixes it.

Only ready-made sizes?

With Custom size off, the size boxes never appear at all. The dimensions still show on each ready-made size as facts about it, and a customer picks rather than measures.

Attach it to a product

Attach a measured set on the product’s Product Options panel like any other set. The product’s page then shows the size inputs, and the running total updates as the customer types.

A measured field, too

Where you need a single measured input alongside other fields rather than a reusable set, a field can be a measured size as well. The set is the reusable, shareable version; the field is the one-off on a single product.

How the charge is worked out

The rate is multiplied by the measurement, area for two dimensions, volume for three, and the minimum charge applies as a floor if the result comes in under it. Every figure resolves on the server and follows your shop’s tax display setting, so a customer never sees a price the browser made up. See pricing & fees.
