Appearance & colours

The options on your product page look right on any shop without setup. You can still set your own colours, and choose how missing answers show on phones.

The look comes from three layers. Each one only takes over where the layer below says nothing.

Layer one: the built-in look

Out of the box, the options use calm neutral colours:

• dark text and light dividing lines
• a green tick on answered questions
• a coral accent on the Choose prompts
• white cards with a soft shadow

The options area has no background of its own, so your page shows through. It works on any theme, classic or block.

Layer two: your theme’s colours

A block theme publishes its colour palette, and AddOnBoss follows it. The accent takes your theme’s main colour, the text takes its text colour, and the cards take its background.

Change your theme’s palette and the options follow. A classic theme publishes no palette, so the built-in look stays.

Layer three: your own colours

1. In the WordPress menu, go to BossMage, then AddOnBoss.
2. Find the Storefront colours card.
3. Set a colour for any of the four choices below.
4. Press Save changes.

• Highlights and prompts paints the Choose prompts and other highlights.
• Selected choice is the fill behind a picked button and the ring around a picked swatch.
• Receipt line is the line across the top of the price breakdown.
• Options background draws the options area as its own soft panel. It’s transparent until you set it.

Press Clear beside a colour to hand it back to your theme. Your colours apply everywhere the options show.

Nothing to undo

Clearing a colour returns to your theme's colours where it has them, and to the built-in look where it doesn't.

Missing choices on a phone

The same screen has an On the product page card with one switch: Show missing choices in a panel on phones.

• On: a phone shopper who presses Add to cart too early sees the unanswered questions in a panel over the page. The panel holds the running total and the button.
• Off, the default: the page scrolls to the first unanswered question.

What you should see

Open a product page with options. The Choose prompts and picked choices should show your colours, or your theme’s if you set none.
