Troubleshooting

Most issues come down to one of a few things. Work down this list before getting in touch. If none of it helps, send us your WordPress, WooCommerce and AddOnBoss versions and a link to the product.

The options are not showing on the product page

• The product has no price. A product with no price is not purchasable in WooCommerce, so its Add to cart area, and the options with it, never render. Set a price on the General tab. Zero is fine if the options are the whole price. The Product options tab warns you when the price is blank.
• On a variable product, the variation has no price. The options show once a priced variation is chosen. Price the variations as usual.
• Nothing is attached. Open the product’s Product options tab. Check a set or field is attached, and that you pressed Update.

A field is not appearing

• It is gated by a rule. A field with a conditional rule stays locked until the trigger value is chosen. That is intended; pick the trigger and it appears.
• It is restricted to certain variations. A field limited to some variations stays inert for the rest. Check its variation restriction, or clear it so it applies to all.

A choice is not being charged

• A choice hidden by a conditional rule is inert on purpose: it is never charged while locked, even if a value is submitted. Unlock it by choosing its trigger.
• Check the option or field actually carries a fee, and the fee mode is what you expect. See pricing & fees.

The price looks wrong

• Tax display. Prices follow your shop’s tax display setting. A figure that looks off is usually inclusive versus exclusive tax; check WooCommerce → Settings → Tax.
• A “once” fee at higher quantities. A one-off fee is charged once for the line, not per unit. A per-item fee multiplies. Check which one the field uses.

A measured size shows no price

• “Choose Handle side to see the price.” A part takes its rate or its sides from that list. Pick an answer, and the price shows. See price a size by its parts.
• “C polish cannot be ordered online yet.” That choice has no rate in the size set. Open the set, and type a rate for it under the part. See give each choice its own rate.
• “Maximum width is 1830 mm.” The size is past the set’s largest, so Add to cart waits. Check the limits under Size in the set. For glass cut from a sheet, tick Pieces can be turned to fit. See say what customers measure.
• “Width must be a whole number of mm, such as 600 or 601.” The set takes whole steps only. To allow other steps, press Change under Size.
• A choice such as “Both sides” can’t be ordered. It has no sides set under the part. Open the set, and set its sides on its square.

A measured price is higher than the size typed

The part may round up or add a length to each measurement. The line under the price shows the size charged, such as “650 × 570 mm = 3.988 sq ft”. See the order a price is worked out.

A measured line shows no “× rate”

Your prices are entered with tax and shown without it, or the other way round. The line then leaves out the rate, so it never prints a sum that is pennies out. See when a line shows no “× rate”.

Shop pages show a lower price than shoppers pay

Shop pages show the product’s own price. If a required choice always adds to it, nobody can buy at that price.

The product screen warns you under the price box. For example: “Shop pages show £30.00, but the choices this product requires make the cheapest £34.00.” Raise the product’s price to match. Where a size prices the whole product, press Use £42.00 to fill it in, then press Update. See give the product a price.

The shop page button says Select options

That’s intended. A product that needs a choice first can’t be added from the shop page, so its button reads Select options. WooCommerce does the same for variable products.

A choice was picked before the shopper touched it

That’s intended too. When a required set has only one answer left, AddOnBoss picks it for the shopper. The others may be sold out, or ruled out by an earlier answer. Optional sets are never picked for them.

There is no Edit options link in the cart

• Quantity grid lines have no link. The order is changed on the product’s grid.
• Lines inside a BundleBoss bundle use the bundle’s own edit.
• Checkout shows no link. It’s for checking, not editing.

AddOnBoss says it is waiting for BundleBoss

If you run both plugins, AddOnBoss may show a notice that it is standing down. Your BundleBoss is older than the version that hands product options to AddOnBoss. Update BundleBoss, and AddOnBoss starts on its own. This stops the two clashing while one is out of date.

The controls look wrong in my theme

AddOnBoss styles its own buttons and boxes so they look right in any theme. It follows a block theme’s colours where the theme publishes them. See appearance & colours for how the styling layers work and where to set your own colours. If a theme still overrides the controls heavily, send us the theme name and we will take a look.
