Tag your option sets

A shop with three option sets does not need this page. A shop with three hundred does.

Option tags are your own words on an option set. Garments. Signage. Christmas. Anything you would use to find a set again.

Tag your option sets once, and the library narrows to whatever you are working on.

This is a Pro feature. It lives on BossMage → Option Sets.

Tag a set

Open any set. The tag box sits with its other settings.

Type a word and press it, or pick one you already use. A set can carry as many tags as you like.

Press New tag to make one that does not exist yet. Name it, and it is ready to use everywhere.

Find sets by their tags

The row above the library is your filter.

What you have chosen leads the row: your search words, then each tag you picked. Every one carries a cross, so you take it off by pressing it.

After those come suggestions, the tags most worth adding next. Then Clear filters to start again.

Nothing reloads the page. Press a tag and the list narrows underneath you.

The search box narrows by name at the same time. Search and tags work together, so “navy” plus Garments finds the navy sets in your garment work and nothing else.

Tag a whole run at once

Tick the sets you want. The bar that appears carries the verbs, including Tag.

Pick the tags, apply, and every ticked set takes them.

This is the fast way to file a library that grew without tags. Narrow to what belongs together, tick them all, tag once.

Rename, recolour, merge or delete

Tags change as a shop changes. Manage tags does four things:

  • Rename. The new name appears everywhere that tag was used. Nothing is untagged.
  • Recolour. Each tag carries a colour dot so you can pick it out at a glance.
  • Merge. Two tags that mean the same thing become one. Every set on either tag ends up on the survivor.
  • Delete. The tag goes. The sets stay exactly as they are.
Merging is not undoable

Once two tags are merged, AddOnBoss cannot tell which set came from which. Rename first if you are not sure.

Tags that look after themselves

Sets that arrive from a supplier carry that supplier’s tag, and it stays right on its own.

Import more from the same supplier and the tag covers the new sets too. You never re-file work you did not do by hand.

Those tags are locked, so a supplier’s name cannot be renamed into something the next import will not recognise.
